This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use and share information about you as well as your rights and choices about such collection, use and sharing, and applies to this website as well as the products and services offered by BriefCatch, whether via this website or a BriefCatch mobile application (collectively, the “Services”).

What data do we collect?

BriefCatch may collect the following types of information about users of the Services:

Your name, email address, telephone number, and company details;
Personal information you provide to us, such as if you submit a webform, raise a support ticket, or otherwise contact us;
Information about how you use the Services, such as how frequently you log in;
Log files relating to your use of the Services, such as your IP address, the address of the website you visited before accessing the Services, your browser type, version and settings, the date and time you used the Services, your language preferences and cookie data;
Device information, including the type of device, what device operating system you use, your device settings, application IDs, unique device identifiers and troubleshooting information;
Information you provide to us if you submit a job application to join the BriefCatch team, such as professional, educational, or employment related information;
Information you provide to us during other interactions, such as via calls or meetings you have with members of the BriefCatch team, if you interact with us via social media or other channels, if you participate in a workshop or focus group, or if you submit a job application to join the BriefCatch team.

We don’t generally collect any special category personal information (also known as sensitive personal data), such as personal information revealing racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, or trade union membership, and the processing of genetic data, biometric data for the purpose of uniquely identifying a natural person, data concerning health or data concerning a natural person’s sex life or sexual orientation. Any special category data that you submit in user generated content via the Services will be your and your organization’s responsibility, as we do not generally have access to this information. We will only process this kind of information with your explicit consent based on your decision to provide such information to us or as otherwise permitted by law. If you submit this kind of information to us, you agree that you will provide and hereby do provide your explicit consent for our processing of this information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

How do we use your information?

We use information that we collect about you or that you provide to us, including any personal information:

To provide the Services to you and/or your organization, including setting up our products and services for you and providing you with support, onboarding, integration to the Services platform, helping you with the Services settings, processing payments and completing other actions which need to be taken to establish or perform our contract with you or your organization.
To improve and develop the Services and customize your experience.
To provide analytics and reporting to your organization on usage and other aspects of the Services.
To enable the BriefCatch team to communicate with you.
To gather and provide information required by or relating to audits, enquiries or investigations by regulatory bodies, law enforcement agencies or jurisdictions.
For operational reasons, such as to manage our internal administration, improving efficiency, training and quality control where you contact our support team.
To send you information about products and services of ours that we think you might like.
To ensure the confidentiality of relevant information.
To prevent unauthorized access or modifications of the Services.
During external and internal audits (e.g., for ISO certification and the audit of our accounts).

How do we share your information?

We share information about you as follows:

Service Providers. We may share your information with our agents, vendors and other service providers (collectively “Service Providers”) in connection with their work on our behalf. Service Providers assist us with services such as payment processing, credit checks, data analytics, marketing and promotional services, website hosting, and technical support. Service Providers are prohibited from using your information for any purpose other than to provide this assistance, although we may permit them to use aggregate information which does not identify you or de-identified data for other purposes.

How do we store your information?

All of our data centers and servers are located within the United States. We will store your personal information while you have an account with us or we are providing products and/or services to your organization. Our goal is to provide you with continuous and efficient service, for which access to your data is essential. If you are a non-U.S. resident and provide us with your personal information, you acknowledge and agree that your personal information may be transferred to and processed in the United States, where the laws regarding processing of personal information may be less stringent than the laws in your country. By providing your information, you consent to such transfer and processing.

Your Rights and Choices

1. Review and Update of Account Information You may access, update, or remove certain account information that you have voluntarily submitted to us through the Services by sending an email to us at help@briefcatch.com. We may require additional information from you to allow us to confirm your identity. Please note that we will retain and use your information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. 2. Tracking Technology Choices Cookies and Pixels. Most browsers accept cookies by default. You can instruct your browser, by changing its settings, to decline or delete cookies. If you use multiple browsers on your device, you will need to instruct each browser separately. Your ability to limit cookies is subject to your browser settings and limitations. Do Not Track. Your browser settings may allow you to automatically transmit a “Do Not Track” signal to online services you visit. Note, however, there is no industry consensus as to what site and app operators should do with regard to these signals. Accordingly, we do not monitor or take action with respect to “Do Not Track” signals or other mechanisms. For more information on “Do Not Track,” visit http://www.allaboutdnt.com. Please be aware that if you disable or remove tracking technologies, some parts of the Services may not function correctly. 3. Communications You can opt-out of receiving promotional emails from us at any time by following the instructions as provided in emails to click on the unsubscribe link, or emailing us at help@briefcatch.com with the word UNSUBSCRIBE in the subject field of the email. Please note that you cannot opt-out of certain non-promotional emails, such as those about your account, transactions, servicing, or BriefCatch’s ongoing business relations with you.

Your European Privacy Rights

If you are a resident of the European Union (“EU”) or the United Kingdom (“UK”), you are entitled to certain information and have certain rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679) or the UK equivalent thereof (collectively, the “GDPR”). Those rights include:

The right to rectification – You have the right to request that we correct any information you believe is inaccurate. You also have the right to request that we complete the information you believe is incomplete.

Children

The Services are intended for a general audience and are not directed to children under 13 years of age. BriefCatch does not knowingly collect personal information as defined by the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (“COPPA”) in a manner that is not permitted by COPPA. If you are a parent or guardian and believe BriefCatch has collected such information in a manner not permitted by COPPA, please contact us as at help@briefcatch.com and we will remove such information to the extent required by COPPA.

Data Security

We have implemented measures designed to secure your personal information from accidental loss and from unauthorized access, use, alteration, and disclosure. Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we do our best to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee the security of your personal information transmitted to the Services. Any transmission of personal information is at your own risk. We are not responsible for circumvention of any privacy settings or security measures contained on the Services.

Changes to our Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to revise this Privacy Policy at any time. Any changes will be effective immediately upon posting of the revised Privacy Policy and updating the “updated” date above.
